        There are clocks everywhere...

              large clocks with important looking faces and ornate brass dials

                 clocks made of crystal cases with diamond studded hands pointing out carefully etched seconds

             clocks with inner mechanisms of gold coils and gears of the finest silver money can buy

...but he never learned to tell time

Oh yes, he could sit for hours that stretched into days, manipulating and outlasting his adversary--anything to prevail

 Spent an eternity analyzing his stockpiles and gains

Scuttled here and there, always with a very important next in mind

Now, nothing left
